Truck Racing Developments have been involved in truck racing since the earliest days of the sport in the UK. Starting with a succession of ERFs, Scanias, Leylands and Fords, they finally produced their Zil based racer with a Caterpillar engine in the early 1990s. In partnership with Caterpillar, this rapidly eveolved into the famous Black Cat racer that went on to win the 1997 & 2000 FIA Championships and the FIA Constructor's Championship in 2002.
